Senior Automation Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to support a complex oil & gas FEED project involving new platform development, brownfield integration, and multi‑interface automation architecture!
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer on behalf of a leading company in the energy sector. You will play a key role in a major oil & gas FEED project involving new platform design, brownfield modifications, and coordination across several contractual interfaces. This position offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise in automation systems engineering, particularly within PDCS system design, in a complex and dynamic project environment.
Responsibilities
Perform system design activities for automation interfaces towards electrical equipment, as directed by the Automation Group Lead
Develop design solutions in accordance with client requirements, ensuring unified and consistent design across all contractual interfaces
Design automation interfaces for electrical equipment packages during the FEED phase
Follow up vendors and review vendor technical documentation, including planning of package‑related engineering activities
Ensure all necessary vendor and engineering information is identified and communicated to the project team
Collaborate closely with other disciplines, suppliers, and the client to secure smooth interface coordination
Prepare, review, and complete engineering documents and data registers
Conduct offshore surveys when required
Qualifications
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Team‑oriented with a cooperative mindset, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
Structured, precise, and committed to meeting deadlines and quality expectations
Proactive, solution‑oriented, and willing to seek and share knowledge with colleagues
Work Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in automation engineering within greenfield projects
Minimum 6 years of experience with automation design for electrical interfaces, including solid understanding of IEC 61850
Strong experience and thorough knowledge of relevant standards, including NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, and IEC
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in automation, electrical engineering, or other relevant technical discipline
Required Certificates
Valid FSE course for the duration of the assignment
Valid Ex course for the duration of the assignment
