Senior Instrument Engineer
Do you have documented experience as a PRE for instrument‑actuated valve packages – including antisurge control valves – in offshore greenfield projects?
On behalf of an international client in the offshore energy sector, we are seeking an experienced Senior Instrument Engineer to join a major greenfield oil & gas project during both the FEED and EPC phases.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a large, multicultural engineering team where you will apply your expertise in instrument‑actuated valves, field instrumentation, package engineering, and cross‑discipline coordination.
Responsibilities:
Design, coordinate, and follow up on instrument valve packages and field instrumentation.
Act as Technical Responsible Engineer (PRE) for instrument valve packages.
Serve as Instrument Discipline Responsible Engineer (DRE) for mechanical equipment packages, working closely with the Mechanical PRE on compressor packages.
Evaluate vendor performance and review vendor technical documentation.
Ensure that all required vendor information is identified, tracked, and shared with relevant stakeholders to maintain project progress.
Participate in FATs, inspections, and vendor site surveys.
Prepare, review, and finalize engineering documents and data registers.
Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Cooperative mindset with the ability to thrive in a multicultural team environment.
Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively.
Systematic, accurate, and committed to meeting quality and deadline requirements.
Proactive attitude with a willingness to seek advice and share knowledge with colleagues.
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience within field instrumentation design/specification in greenfield offshore oil & gas projects.
Minimum 4 years of experience performing PRE activities for instrument valve packages.
Extensive knowledge of field instrumentation design according to standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, ISO, and IEC.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent within engineering.
